Health : Coffee is good for the brain and liver

A German health organization has issued a brochure with new conclusions about the effects of coffee on human health, saying that itis good for the brain and the liver.

Germany's Green Cross said coffee speeds up digestion and protects people from age-related diabetes, Alzheimer's Disease and cirrhosis of the liver. The brochure summarizes the results of several studies on coffee consumption.

Coffee has a preponderance of positive influences on health and well-being. Caffeine plays an important role not only by improving the ability to concentrate, but also by decreasing the risk of liver cirrhosis by up to 80 per cent among people who drink at least four cups a day.

In addition coffee contains a number of health promoting ingredients such as chlorogene acid, a substance that has antioxidant effects and that can cut nearly in half the risk of Alzheimer's Disease.

Health : DRINK WATER ON EMPTY STOMACH

*It is popular in Japan today to drink water immediately after waking up every morning. Furthermore, scientific tests have proven its value. We
publish below a description of use of water for our readers. For old and serious diseases as well as modern illnesses the water treatment had been found successful by a Japanese medical society as a 100% cure for the following diseases:
Headache, body ache, heart system, arthritis, fast heart beat, epilepsy, excess fatness, bronchitis asthma, TB, meningitis, kidney and urine diseases, vomiting, gastritis, diarrhea, piles, diabetes, constipation, all eye diseases, womb, cancer and menstrual disorders, ear nose and throat **diseases.*

*METHOD OF TREATMENT**
1. As you wake up in the morning before brushing teeth, drink 4 x 160ml glasses of water
2. Brush and clean the mouth but do not eat or drink anything for 45 minute
3. After 45 minutes you may eat and drink as normal.
4. After 15 minutes of breakfast, lunch and dinner do not eat or drink anything for 2 hours
5. Those who are old or sick and are unable to drink 4 glasses of water at the beginning may commence by taking little water and gradually increase it to 4 glasses per day.
6. The above method of treatment will cure diseases of the sick and others can enjoy a healthy life. *

*The following list gives the number of days of treatment required to cure/control/reduce main diseases:*
1. *High Blood Pressure (30 days)*
2. *Gastric (10 days)*
3. *Diabetes (30 days)*
4. *Constipation (10 days)*
5. *Cancer (180 days)*
6. *TB (90 days)*
7. *Arthritis patients should follow the above treatment only for 3 days in the 1st week, and from 2nd week onwards – daily.*

*This treatment method has no side effects, however at the commencement of treatment you may have to urinate a few times.*
*It is better if we continue this and make this procedure as a routine work in our life. Drink Water and Stay healthy and Active.*

*This makes sense .. The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals..not cold water. Maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!! Nothing to lose, everything to gain... *

*For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you.
It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. **However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion.*

*Once this "sludge" reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. *
*Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.*

*A serious note about heart attacks:*
*Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting,*
*Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.*
*You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack.*
*Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.*
*60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up.*
*Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep.
Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive...*

*A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this mail sends it to everyone they know, you can be sure that we'll save at least one life. *

Health : Heavy snorers more likely to develop diabetes

Heavy snorers face an increased risk of developing diabetes, say scientists.
According to researchers, frequent snorers are up to 50 per cent more likely to develop diabetes than those who sleep silently at night.

Researchers claim that people who snore regularly are more prone to changes in body metabolism that lead to the disorder. Complications include heart attacks or strokes, reports The Daily Express.

However, treatment for chronic snoring slashes the risk of diabetes, suggested study of a snoring-related condition called sleep apnoea at Yale University in the United States.

Muscles in the airways relax as sleep begins but sleep apnoea causes a complete collapse that shuts off breathing leading to the brain jolting sufferers awake throughout the night.

The study concluded: “Sleep apnoea is significantly associated with the risk of type 2 diabetes, independently of other risk factors such as age, race, sex or weight. And an increase in the severity of snoring is associated with a raised risk of diabetes.”

Health : A Chilli Pill that cuts as many calories as 80 minutes walk

LONDON: Scientists claimed to have developed a slimming pill that can burn off as many calories as 80 minutes of walk or a 25-minute jog, while you sit.

The pill -- Capsiplex -- which is made from hot peppers and capsicum, utilises the weight-loss potential of red-hot peppers.

Chilli and capsicum help speed up the metabolism, thus, helping people lose weight more rapidly. However, consuming these chillies or their extract in large quantities causes irritation as these are unbearably hot.

The scientists overcame this problem while developing the capsule. The pill eats up the calories without causing any irritation, the Daily Mail reported.

"For decades, scientists have known about the weight-loss potential of red-hot peppers. The problem has been the ability to consume such a highly concentrated amount, but we have overcome this by putting a protective coating on the ingredients which stops any gastric irritation," a spokesman for Capsiplex said.

"At last we have a safe and healthy supplement to help weight loss," the spokesman added.

Trials of the pill conducted at University of Oklahoma in US showed adults taking Capsiplex burned off 278 more calories before, during and after a bout of exercise than those on placebos.

The pill is already in use in the US. Hollywood stars like Jennifer Lopez, Brad Pitt and Britney Spears are known to have used the pill.

Health : What is Happening When my Joints Crack?

"Cracking joints" are an interesting and poorly understood phenomenon. There are many theories as to why joints crack or pop, but the exact cause is simply not known.

Painless cracking of joints is as a rule not harmful. However, common sense generally would suggest that the intentional and repetitive cracking of one's joints not only is potentially socially bothersome but also could be physically troublesome when it produces pain.

Knuckle "cracking" has not been shown to be harmful or beneficial. More specifically, knuckle cracking does not cause arthritis.

Joint "cracking" can result from a negative pressure pulling nitrogen gas temporarily into the joint, such as when knuckles are "cracked." This is not harmful. "Cracking" sounds can also be heard if tendons snap over tissues because of minor adjustments in their gliding paths. This can occur with aging as muscle mass and action change.

If cracking is accompanied by pain, there could be underlying abnormalities of the structures of the joint, such as loose cartilage or injured ligaments. Some patients with arthritis (inflammation of joints, usually painful), bursitis, or tendinitis notice "cracking" sounds with joint movements due to the snapping of irregular, swollen tissues.

What to do:

* If the cracking doesn't hurt, don’t worry about it.
* If you have pain or swelling, or the joint is red or warm or has limited motion, see a doctor to find out what's going on.

Health : Junk food can actually be good

Arecent study has proved that certain junk foods contain good amounts of antioxidants and they can in fact be good for the heart. While it isn’t
recommended that one thrive on these foods, indulging in some of them, in limit of course, may do you a whole lot of good.

Some examples of these junk foods are...

POPCORN
It may be the best accompaniment for movies, but popcorn also helps curb the evening snack craving. A bowl of home-made popcorn is even better as it is low on calories and high on antioxidants.

DARK CHOCOLATE BROWNIES
Yes, it is indeed good news especially for people with a sweet tooth. Dark chocolate is proven to be good for the heart and if it is paired with a whole wheat brownie and some nuts, it becomes rich in fibre as well.

DARK CHOCOLATE BARS
Dark chocolate contains high amounts of antioxidants. It helps to lower the blood pressure and decrease the risk of heart disease as well, if you eat around 100 grams a day.

CRACKERS
There are many kinds of whole wheat crackers available, which can be a good and healthy evening munch without the side-effects that other junk foods cause.

BAKED SNACKS
The latest in the snack category are baked snacks. They are better than fried chips as they contain no oil. Usually made of whole wheat with a dash of spice, it not only entertains the taste buds but is also healthy for your body.

PROCESSED CHEESE
Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) is found in many meat, milk and cheese products. But a recent study which concentrated specifically on processed cheese found that CLA has anti-carcinogenic properties and it is also an effective antioxidant. The study says processed cheese contains more CLA than natural cheese, such as cheddar.

DRY STOUT BEER
Experts say that one pint of this thick and creamy dark beer may be as effective as a low dose of aspirin to improve blood circulation, and hence lower the risk of blood clots and heart attacks. It’s proven to be better than aerated drinks and other types of beer.

RED WINE
Resveratrol, an ingredient in red wine, effectively decreases life-threatening inflammations. The antioxidants in red wine can help in preventing heart disease and cancer. For non-drinkers, grape juice or even red grapes can be as effective.

Music : Taylor Swift Hey Stephen lyrics

Hey Stephen, I know looks can be deceiving
But I know I saw a light in you
And as we walked we were talking
I didn't say half the things I wanted to

Of all the girls tossing rocks at your window
I'll be the one waiting there even when it's cold
Hey Stephen, boy, you might have me believing
I don't always have to be alone

'Cause I can't help it if you look like an angel
Can't help it if I wanna kiss you in the rain so
Come feel this magic I've been feeling since I met you
Can't help it if there's no one else
Mmm, I can't help myself

Hey Stephen, I've been holding back this feeling
So I got some things to say to you
I've seen it all, so I thought
But I never seen nobody shine the way you do

The way you walk, way you talk, way you say my name
It's beautiful, wonderful, don't you ever change
Hey Stephen, why are people always leaving?
I think you and I should stay the same

'Cause I can't help it if you look like an angel
Can't help it if I wanna kiss you in the rain so

Come feel this magic I've been feeling since I met you
Can't help it if there's no one else
Mmm, I can't help myself

They're dimming the street lights, you're perfect for me
Why aren't you here tonight?
I'm waiting alone now, so come on and come out
And pull me near and shine, shine, shine

Hey Stephen, I could give you fifty reasons
Why I should be the one you choose
All those other girls, well, they're beautiful
But would they write a song for you?

I can't help it if you look like an angel
Can't help it if I wanna kiss you in the rain so
Come feel this magic I've been feeling since I met you
Can't help it if there's no one else
Mmm, I can't help myself

If you look like an angel
Can't help it if I wanna kiss you in the rain so
Come feel this magic I've been feeling since I met you
Can't help it if there's no one else
Mmm, I can't help myself

Myself
Can't help myself
I can't help myself

Music : Taylor Swift Crazier lyrics

I've never gone with the wind, just let it flow
Let it take me where it wants to go
Til you open the door, there's so much more
I've never seen it before
I was trying to fly but I couldn't find my wings
But you came along and you changed everything

You lift my feet off the ground
You spin me around
You make me crazier crazier
Feels like I'm falling and I am lost in your eyes
You make me crazier crazier crazier

I watched from a distance as you made life your own
Every sky was your own kind of blue
And I wanted to know how that would feel
And you made it so real

You showed me something that I couldn't see
You opened my eyes and you made me believe.

You lift my feet off the ground
You spin me around
You make me crazier crazier
Feels like I'm falling and I am lost in your eyes
You make me crazier crazier crazier oh

Baby you showed me what livin' is for
I don't wanna hide anymore

You lift my feet off the ground
You spin me around
You make me crazier crazier
Feels like I'm falling and I'm lost in your eyes
You make me crazier crazier crazier crazier crazier

Music : Taylor Swift Fifteen lyrics

You take a deep breath and you walk through the doors
It's the morning of your very first day
And you say hi to your friends you ain't seen in a while
Try and stay out of everybody's way

It's your freshman year and you're gonna be here
For the next four years in this town
Hoping one of those senior boys will wink at you and say
"You know, I haven't seen you around before"

'Cause when you're fifteen and somebody tells you they love you
You're gonna believe them
And when you're fifteen feeling like there's nothing to figure out
Well, count to ten, take it in
This is life before you know who you're gonna be
Fifteen

You sit in class next to a redhead named Abigail
And soon enough you're best friends
Laughing at the other girls who think they're so cool
We'll be outta here as soon as we can

And then you're on your very first date and he's got a car
And you're feeling like flying
And you're momma's waiting up and you're thinking he's the one
And you're dancing 'round your room when the night ends
When the night ends

Cause when you're fifteen and somebody tells you they love you
You're gonna believe them
When you're fifteen and your first kiss
Makes your head spin 'round
But in your life you'll do things greater than
Dating the boy on the football team
But I didn't know it at fifteen

When all you wanted was to be wanted
Wish you could go back and tell yourself what you know now

Back then I swore I was gonna marry him someday
But I realized some bigger dreams of mine
And Abigail gave everything she had to a boy
Who changed his mind and we both cried

'Cause when you're fifteen and somebody tells you they love you
You're gonna believe them
And when you're fifteen, don't forget to look before you fall
I've found time can heal most anything
And you just might find who you're supposed to be
I didn't know who I was supposed to be at fifteen

Your very first day
Take a deep breath girl
Take a deep breath as you walk through the doors

Music : Taylor Swift Fearless lyrics

Here's somethin' 'bout the way the street looks when it's just rained
There's a glow off the pavement, you walk me to the car
And you know I wanna ask you to dance right there
In the middle of the parking lot, yeah

We're drivin' down the road, I wonder if you know
I'm tryin' so hard not to get caught up now
But you're just so cool, run your hands through your hair
Absent-mindedly makin' me want you

And I don't know how it gets better than this
You take my hand and drag me headfirst, fearless
And I don't know why but with you I dance
In a storm in my best dress, fearless

So baby drive slow 'til we run out of road
In this one horse town, I wanna stay right here
In this passenger seat, you put your eyes on me
In this moment, now capture it, remember it

'Cause I don't know how it gets better than this
You take my hand and drag me headfirst, fearless
And I don't know why but with you I'd dance
In a storm in my best dress, fearless

Well, you stood there with me in the doorway
My hands shake, I'm not usually this way
But you pull me in and I'm a little more brave
It's the first kiss, it's flawless, really somethin'
It's fearless

'Cause I don't know how it gets better than this
You take my hand and drag me headfirst, fearless
And I don't know why but with you I'd dance
In a storm in my best dress, fearless

'Cause I don't know how it gets better than this
You take my hand and drag me headfirst, fearless
And I don't know why but with you I'd dance
In a storm in my best dress, fearless

Music : Taylor Swift Jump Then Fall lyrics

I like the way you sound in the morning,
We're on the phone and without a warning
I realize your laugh is the best sound I have ever heard

I like the way I can't keep my focus,
I watch you talk you didn't notice
I hear the words but all I can think is we should be together

(chorus)
Every time you smile, I smile
And every time you shine, I'll shine for you

Whoa oh I'm feeling you baby
Don't be afraid to jump then fall, jump then fall into me

Baby, I'm never gonna leave you,
Say that you wanna be with me too
Cause I'm gonna stay through it all so jump then fall

Well I like the way your hair falls in your face
You got the keys to me I love each freckle on your face, oh,
I've never been so wrapped up,
Honey, I like the way you're everything I've ever wanted

I had time to think it oh-over and all I can say is come closer,
Take a deep breath and jump then fall into me

(chorus)
Every time you smile, I smile
And every time you shine, I'll shine for you

Whoa oh I'm feeling you baby
Don't be afraid to jump then fall, jump then fall into me
Baby, I'm never gonna leave you,
Say that you wanna be with me too
Cause I'm gonna stay through it all so jump then fall

The bottoms gonna drop out from under our feet
I'll catch you, I'll catch you
When people say things that bring you to your knees,
I'll catch you
The time is gonna come when you're so mad you could cry
But I'll hold you through the night until you smile

Whoa oh I need you baby
Don't be afraid please
Jump then fall, jump then fall into me

Baby, I'm never gonna leave you,
Say that you wanna be with me too
Cause I'm gonna through it all so jump then fall

Jump then fall baby
Jump then fall into me, into me

Every time you smile, I smile
And every time you shine, I'll shine
And every time you're here baby, I'll show you, I'll show you
You can jump then fall, jump then fall, jump then fall into me, into me

Yeah

Music : Taylor Swift Today Was A Fairytale lyrics

Today was a fairytale
You were the prince
I used to be a damsel in distress
You took me by the hand and you picked me up at six
Today was a fairytale

Today was a fairytale

Today was a fairytale
I wore a dress
You wore a dark grey t-shirt
You told me I was pretty when I looked like a mess
Today was a fairytale
Time slows down whenever you're around

But can you feel this magic in the air?
It must have been the way you kissed me
Fell in love when I saw you standing there
It must have been the way
Today was a fairytale
It must have been the way
Today was a fairytale

Today was a fairytale
You've got a smile that takes me to another planet
Every move you make everything you say is right
Today was a fairytale
Today was a fairytale
All that I can say is it's getting so much clearer
Nothing made sense until the time I saw your face
Today was a fairytale

Time slows down whenever you're around
Yeah yeah

But can you feel this magic in the air?
It must have been the way you kissed me
Fell in love when I saw you standing there
It must have been the way
Today was a fairytale
It must have been the way
Today was a fairytale

Time slows down whenever you're around
I can feel my heart
It's beating in my chest
Did you feel it?
I can't put this down

But can you feel this magic in the air?
It must have been the way you kissed me
Fell in love when I saw you standing there
It must have been the way
But can you feel this magic in the air?
It must have been the way you kissed me
Fell in love when I saw you standing there
It must have been the way
Today was a fairytale
It must have been the way
Today was a fairytale

Technology : What's in store for Apple OS 4.0?

iPhone OS 4.0 is on its way. There have been hints that we'd see the next version of the software that powers the iPhone and iPod Touch soon, and Apple sent invitations to a media-only preview of the software on Thursday, inviting us to "get a sneak peek" at iPhone OS 4.0.

Apple isn't going to let on what's in the updated iPhone software until then, but there's been some buzz recently about what Apple might have in the works.

When version 4.0 of the software will be available for download still isn't clear. Thursday is likely just an overview of new features, though Apple might give at least a time frame for the software's release. The best guess is that it will coincide with the release of new iPhone hardware, which has happened in late June or early July every year since 2007.

Here are some things we think Apple will introduce with iPhone OS 4.0, and some things we're pretty sure it won't but would make a lot of iPhone and iPod Touch owners really happy if they did.

Multitasking

Some consider it the biggest weaknesses of the iPhone in comparison with its smartphone peers: that Apple limits the ability of applications on the iPhone or iPod Touch to run simultaneously. Currently, you can do some multitasking --listening to music while reading e-mail, or browsing Safari during a voice call --but third-party applications can't do this at all.

It sounds like this will change soon however. Rumors began floating around last week that Apple is indeed working on multitasking in iPhone OS and could be implemented much the way Expose works on Mac OS. Expose is the feature on Macs in which clicking a certain key or swiping downward on a newer MacBook touch pad shows all the applications currently running and gives the option of toggling through each.

Integrated ads

Apple got into a tug-of-war with Google over AdMob last year and lost. Apple settled for Quattro Wireless, another mobile advertising company, which it bought in January. Since the purchase, Apple has been mum about its plans for Quattro within Apple, but the event on Thursday could serve as a coming-out party for a new advertising platform that is integrated with the iPhone software development kit.

Borrowing from iPad

iPad runs a modified version of iPhone OS, currently version 3.2. The iPhone and iPod Touch now run version 3.1. The iPad has some features that the iPhone and iPod Touch do not, some of which the iPad we think could reasonably be added to the iPhone OS: the ability to customize the background wallpaper, using the iPhone in any orientation you want (the iPad allows you to turn it left, right, and upside down), and perhaps even Bluetooth keyboard support.

Merge iPhone OS and iPad OS

There's also the chance that Apple could go even further in borrowing from iPad. It came up right after the iPad was introduced and hasn't been mentioned since. But there's a good chance the OS for the iPhone and the modified OS for the iPad will merge into one operating system.

When that will be though is up for debate. John Gruber at DaringFireball thinks the introduction of OS 4.0 is the time. Jim Dalrymple, the author of The Loop blog (and a member of CNET's blog network), says the two operating systems will merge with the release of iPhone OS 4.1 in September or October.

Folders and sorting

Apple offered a solution for organizing the overload of applications at its last iTunes and iPod event when it introduced the ability to manage apps via iTunes. But there's still more to be done. One of the things iPhone owners could use is the ability to sort apps directly on the home page of the iPhone and/or the ability to create folders. Both of those would bring iPhone OS up to speed with what Android can do.

Tethering

Tethering is the ability to share your phone's cellular connection with other devices, such as a computer. Though carriers in other countries allow their customers to use tethering, AT&T has yet to bring it to iPhone users in the U.S. Apple could take the opportunity to address the situation for U.S. customers on Thursday.

Better voice control

The iPhone has some voice controls, but more would be better. On the list that should be added: composing e-mails or text by voice.

Profiles

Having the ability to create different profiles for the iPhone would ensure users don't have to constantly re-adjust the settings on their phone. Being able to set the iPhone depending on where you're at or what you're doing ("home," "work," and "asleep" for example) would enable users to specify when they want to get e-mail, text message notifications, ringer on/off, and more.

Some things Apple probably won't introduce, but we can still hope for:

Mass storage capability

Apple currently doesn't allow iPhone owners to utilize extra memory as a storage device. It's got a USB port, why not allow people to save large files to their device and download them elsewhere?

New way to handle large files

Speaking of large files, the iPhone won't download applications or files larger than 20MB over 3G. Apple -- and likely AT&T or any service provider -- prefers you wait for a Wi-Fi connection before you start downloading extra-large apps. So why not introduce a new option so that when you try to buy an app over 20MB on 3G to automatically start downloading next time you're in range of a Wi-Fi connection?

Built-in photo editing

Right now Apple doesn't allow iPhone users to do anything more than take a photo with the iPhone and then send it or share it via other applications. You can't edit those photos, including basic things like cropping or rotating them, on the device itself without the assistance of a third-party app.

Flash compatibility

It's pretty well known how Steve Jobs feels about Adobe Flash on the iPhone (Jobs reportedly called it a "CPU hog"). And in conjunction with the debut of the iPad, Apple has been actively promoting the new HTML5 Web standard for online videos and the Web sites that implement it. So it's fairly unlikely he and Apple will suddenly change their minds.

Technology : Apple offers fixes for iPad's Wi-Fi woes

Apple is acknowledging complaints that its new iPad computer has trouble connecting to the Internet.

And it's offering some possible solutions.

"Under certain conditions, iPad may not automatically rejoin a known Wi-Fi network after restart or waking from sleep," Apple said in a post on its technical support site late Tuesday.

The post came after a day in which a growing number of people who bought the computer over the weekend said they weren't able to get a Wi-Fi connection or that the connection kept getting dropped.

The iPad, a touch-screen, tablet-style computer that occupies digital turf somewhere between a laptop and a smartphone, went on sale Saturday.

The model available now connects to the Internet over a Wi-Fi connection. Later this month, Apple also will start selling an iPad version that connects to the Internet via 3G wireless service from AT&T.

Apple said this week's connection problems can happen with third-party Wi-Fi routers that are dual-band capable if more than one network has the same name or someone had different security settings for the different networks.

The company suggested users create separate names for different Wi-Fi bands and make sure that multiple networks have the same security settings.

If problems continue, the post suggests resetting the iPad's network settings. iPad users can find those settings under the following file path: Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

The company also advised users to make sure they are using up-to-date wireless router software.

On Tuesday, some users were saying their Wi-Fi connections were weak, while others were saying they weren't able to connect with Wi-Fi at all.

Some said that other wireless devices were working fine at the same spot where the iPad was failing. Several, on a message board on Apple's support site, said laying the iPad on a flat surface made the problem worse.

Apple did not respond Tuesday to a request from CNN.com about the complaints or immediately respond to an e-mail Wednesday morning asking about the proposed solutions.

On Saturday, when the company reported selling 300,000 of the devices, Apple posted a Web page outlining troubleshooting tips for "occasional problems" that included weak Wi-Fi connections or not being able to find a signal.

The tips include moving closer to a Wi-Fi router or hot spot and making sure the Wi-Fi router is plugged in and the power is turned on.

Technology : Shuttle Discovery docks with space station

Space shuttle Discovery docked with the international space station early Wednesday despite a broken antenna that knocked out radar tracking aboard the shuttle.

The shuttle docked with the space station at 3:44 a.m. ET. At the time of docking, both spacecraft were traveling 225 miles over the Caribbean sea near Caracas, Venezuela, NASA said.

Commander Alan Poindexter and his crew completed the rendezvous without the use of the shuttle's Ku-band radar, relying instead on other navigation tools to precisely track the space station, NASA said.

The Discovery's seven-person crew now joins the six-person space station crew for more than a week of work together.

It will mark the first time four women have been in space at one time.

Three women -- mission specialists Stephanie Wilson, Dorothy Metcalf-Lindenburger and Naoko Yamazaki -- comprise part of the Discovery's crew. NASA astronaut Tracy Caldwell Dyson is already at the space station.

Discovery launched Monday morning from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

The shuttle's 13-day mission includes three planned spacewalks, replacing an ammonia tank assembly and retrieving a Japanese experiment from the station's exterior.

It is scheduled to return to Earth on April 18 at 8:35 a.m. ET.

There are only three shuttle missions remaining before the space shuttle fleet is retired.

TV : Vansh's love for Ichcha to alter into distrust in Uttaran

Vansh will break his silence only after his marriage, which would call for unexpected troubles for Ichcha and her married life in COLORS’ Uttaran…

Finally, the moment has arrived for which Vansh (Rohit Khurana) had been waiting for in COLORS' Uttaran, but his wedding to Ichcha (Tina Dutta) does not look simple anymore, just because Vansh has got to know that his brother Veer (Nandish Sandhu) too is in love with the same girl.

Now the next high point that the viewers can look forward to, is the moment when Vansh will break his silence and his emotions burst out as a volcano.

According to our source, "Vansh would go thro' the entire marriage rituals in complete trance mood, and would give words to his thoughts only on their wedding night".

"Also Vansh's possessive attitude towards Ichcha will change, and her very presence in his life will start hurting him more", adds our source.

We tried to contact both Nandish Sandhu and Rohit Khurana, but they echoed the same saying, "We are as of now shooting for the wedding rituals, and are unaware as to what will happen next. But going by the scenario we are presently in, viewers can surely look forward to high voltage drama".

For the uninitiated, Vansh had earlier narrated a story to Ichcha about a girl Kesar who was caught between two brothers. He had also mentioned then that the husband of the girl ends up killing her lover, which results in the girl killing herself.

If we relate the present track to the above tale, then viewers could presume that there could be at least one of the character's exit happening in the show. However, it is heard that the creative team is planning for a big high point and are still undecided on how they want to play with their characters.

Having said this, since Ichcha and Veer's liking for each other seems to be the eternal love story, there is every possibility of Vansh being the odd one out here.

But as of now, our source confirms that, "Vansh who has been portrayed as a possessive lover till now will turn hysterical, and start hating Ichcha, so much so that he would even start causing physical trauma to her".

Music : Fearless (Taylor Swift album)

Fearless is the second studio album by American country pop artist Taylor Swift. Released on November 11, 2008, on Big Machine Records, the album debuted at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and the Top Country Albums charts. The release sold 592,000 copies in the United States its first week—the largest sum for a country album since Eagles' Long Road Out of Eden in November 2007. Fearless later became the first album to sell one million copies in 2009, and earned the title of top-selling album of 2009. As of February 11, 2010, the album has been certified 6x Platinum by the RIAA, and has sold over 10 million copies worldwide.

The album's lead single, "Love Story," was her first song to achieve commercial success outside of the United States. It reached No. 1 in Australia, No. 3 in New Zealand,[8] and No. 2 in the United Kingdom. The album's third single, "You Belong with Me," became Swift's biggest domestic hit, peaking at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.The album itself topped the Billboard 200 for 11 non-consecutive weeks and topped the Billboard Top Country Albums for 35 non-consecutive weeks. The album was later re-released on October 26, 2009, as Fearless: Platinum Edition with six additional new songs.

At the 52nd Grammy Awards, Swift won awards for Album of the Year and Best Country Album for Fearless. Her Album of the Year win made her the youngest person ever at the age of 20 to receive that award, thereby eclipsing Alanis Morissette's win for Jagged Little Pill at the age of 21. Fearless was also the first album in history to win the American Music Award (AMA), Academy of Country Music Award (ACM), Country Music Association Award (CMA), and Grammy Award for Album of The Year in the same year.

Promotion

Swift has performed songs off of Fearless for many award shows, including the CMA Awards, American Music Awards, 51st Grammy Awards, Academy of Country Music awards show, 2009 CMT Awards, and 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Some of these performances have been alongside other artists, including Miley Cyrus.

To promote the album, she has additionally performed on several major syndicated television shows, including Late Show with David Letterman, The Ellen Degeneres Show, Saturday Night Live. To promote the album in the UK, she has appeared on music/talk show T4, Loose Women, and BBC Breakfast. In September 2008, "White Horse" was played during the season premiere of Grey's Anatomy.

Tour

In spring 2009, Swift headlined a massive, sold out 52-city Fearless Tour in the United States and Canada, with opening acts Kellie Pickler and Gloriana. Following Fearless's success in the UK, Swift later brought the tour to London and Manchester in the fall, as well as performed at Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria, VA, after the school won a performance by her as part of a promotional contest sponsored by Verizon Wireless.

According to Country Standard Time, the tour "feature[d] an incredibly theatrical presentation of graphics, sets and visual elements designed by Swift herself." Each show consisted of performances by Swift on five guitars and the piano, as well as multiple costume changes and an illuminated fairy-tale castle. Most of Swift's shows sold out within hours; her August 27, 2009, show at Madison Square Garden sold out in less than 1 minute after its availability.

After wrapping up the first leg of her Fearless Tour, Swift launched the second leg on March 4, 2010, after returning from a five-show tour in Australia in February 2010. The tour was set to end on June 5, 2010.

Critical reception

Fearless has become a massive critical success, winning the Grammy Award for Album of the Year. According to the music review aggregator Metacritic, it has received an average score of 73. Newsday gave the album an "A" rating, calling it "wise beyond her years". James Reed of the Boston Globe gave the album a strong positive review saying the "Young country star's 'Fearless' proves she's just that, and more". Allmusic quote the way Swift writes her music and how she matured into her new album: "Swift's gentle touch is as enduring as her songcraft, and this musical maturity may not quite jibe with her age but it does help make Fearless one of the best mainstream pop albums of 2008." Rolling Stone magazine said that her "music mixes an almost impersonal professionalism - it's so rigorously crafted it sounds like it has been scientifically engineered in a hit factory - with confessions that are squirmingly intimate and true." Fearless is listed as the 39th best album of 2008 by Rolling Stone.

Swift released Fearless: Platinum Edition on October 26, 2009. The album contains the same tracks plus 6 additional tracks and a DVD.

Family : My Best Friend

My Best Friend....

My best friend's name is Aman Agrawal. He is the best boy i've or i'll ever see in my life. I never thought i'd get a best friend like him. He is very good natured, handsome, cute, talented, funny, smart, clever and cool boy. I love his caring nature. He cares for me a lot. He is not fake with me, he is always true with me and i beleive him the most. He is awesome boy. I hope he'll always stay with me in my heart forever & always.

Friendship isn't always easily described. The Eskimos, they say, have a hundred different words for snow. Unfortunately, the English language isn't quite as innovative, though it has vast opportunities to differentiate meaning. Certainly, Love is one of those opportunities. And so, too, is Friendship.

Instead of different words, however, we're stuck with simple adjectives. Close friend. Best friend. Childhood friend. Intimate friend. Trusted friend. Beloved friend. But whether you use adjectives or different words, few could deny the nearly infinite meaning in such a simple word.

Friends are special people. We can't pick our family, and we're sorely limited in the number of them at any rate. Society and mores (and often our own conscience) dictate we select a single mate. But our friends can be as diverse and infinite as the adjectives we choose. Our friends, in a very real sense, reflect the choices we make in life.

A BEST FRIEND
A best friend
is always there,
whether you need advice,
or a pep talk,
or even a shoulder to cry on.
A best friend
listens with her heart
and is always honest with you,
even though the truth
may not be
what you want to hear.
A best friend
knows all your secrets,
understands your fears
shares your dreams.
A best friend
never stops believing in you
even if you give up
on yourself.
you are
that kind of friend
to me.
And no matter what happens,
you always will be.
You are my best friend....
my forever friend Aman.....

Artist : Taylor Swift

Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13, 1989) is an American country pop singer-songwriter and actress.

In 2006, she released her debut single "Tim McGraw", then her self-titled debut album, which was subsequently certified multi-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. In November 2008, Swift released her second album, Fearless. Fearless and Taylor Swift finished 2008 at number-three and number-six respectively, with sales of 2.1 and 1.5 million.[5] Fearless has topped the Billboard 200 in 11 non-consecutive weeks;[6] no album has spent more time at No. 1 since 2000. Swift was named Artist of the Year by Billboard Magazine in 2009.[7] Fearless won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 2010.

In 2008, her albums sold a combined four million copies, making her the best-selling musician of the year in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Forbes ranked Swift 2009's 69th-most powerful celebrity with earnings of $18 million.[8] In January 2010 Nielsen SoundScan lists Swift as the top-selling digital artist in music history with over 24.3 million digital tracks sold.[9] To date, she has sold over ten million albums worldwide.

Early life

Swift was born in the borough of Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. She is the daughter of Scott Swift, a stock broker, and his wife Andrea, a homemaker. She has a younger brother, Austin.[11] When she was in fourth grade, Swift won a national poetry contest with a three-page poem titled "Monster In My Closet".[12][13]

At ten years old, Swift began writing songs and singing at karaoke contests, festivals, and fairs around her hometown. One summer, she devoted herself to writing a 350-page novel, which remains unpublished.[14] Her first major show was a well-received performance at the Bloomsburg Fair.[15]

Songwriting interest

Swift began learning to play guitar from a computer repairman who showed her how to play three chords. After learning those three chords, she wrote her first song, "Lucky You".[16] She began writing songs regularly and used it as an outlet to help her with her pain from not fitting in at school. Other kids would react badly to her so she wrote songs about them.[17]

Early work

Swift's greatest musical influence is Shania Twain.[18] Her other influences include LeAnn Rimes, Tina Turner, Dolly Parton, and Swift's grandmother. Although her grandmother was a professional opera singer,[19] Taylor's tastes always ran more toward country and she developed a love for Patsy Cline and Dolly Parton at an early age.[20] She also credits the Dixie Chicks and Shania Twain for demonstrating how much impact can be made by "stretching boundaries".[21]

At age 11, Swift made her first trip to Nashville, hoping to obtain a record deal by distributing a demo tape of her singing with karaoke songs. She gave a copy to every label in town.[22] Swift was rejected by record labels and her peers.[23]

After Swift returned to Pennsylvania, she was asked to sing at the U.S. Open tennis tournament; her rendition of the national anthem received a lot of attention.[24] Swift started writing songs and playing 12-string guitar when she was 12. Swift began to regularly visit Nashville and wrote songs with local songwriters. By the time she was 14, her family decided to move to an outlying Nashville suburb.[25]

When Swift was 15, she rejected RCA Records because the company wanted to keep her on a development deal.[26] Swift then performed at Nashville's songwriters' venue, The Bluebird Café, catching the attention of Scott Borchetta[27] who signed her to his newly formed record label, Big Machine Records. At age 14, she also became the youngest staff songwriter ever hired by the Sony/ATV Tree publishing house.[28].

Swift released her debut single, "Tim McGraw", in mid-2006, reaching number 6 on Billboard magazine's Hot Country Songs chart.[29] Her self-titled debut album was later released on October 24, 2006.[30] Swift wrote or co-wrote all of the songs on the album, which debuted at number 19 on the Billboard 200 and sold 39,000 copies during its first week.[31] It later peaked at number one at Billboard Top Country Albums and number five on the Billboard 200.[32] It also spent eight consecutive weeks at the top of the Top Country Albums charts[33] and remained at the top for 24 out of 91 weeks.[34] The only other country artists this decade to achieve the number-one sales position for 20 weeks or more are The Dixie Chicks and Carrie Underwood.[35] As of November 2008, Taylor Swift has sold over three million copies and 7.5 million single downloads.[36]

The music video for "Tim McGraw" won Swift an award for Breakthrough Video of the Year at the 2007 CMT Music Awards.[37] Her pursuit of country music stardom was the subject of "GAC Short Cuts", a part-documentary, part-music-video series airing since the summer of 2006 on the country music channel.[38] On May 15, 2007, Swift performed "Tim McGraw" at the Academy of Country Music Awards. Swift has been an opening act for Tim McGraw and Faith Hill on their Soul2Soul 2007 tour. She has opened in the past for George Strait, Brad Paisley and Rascal Flatts as well.[39]

The second single from the Taylor Swift album, "Teardrops on My Guitar", was released February 24, 2007. The song originally made its peak positions in mid-2007, peaking at #2 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart and #33 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was re-released to the Hot 100 and Pop 100 in late 2007 with a pop remix that brought "Teardrops on My Guitar" to #13 on the Hot 100 and #11 on the Pop 100. In October 2007, Swift was awarded Songwriter/Artist of the Year Award by the Nashville Songwriters Association International, making her the youngest artist ever to win the award.[40]

Swift won the 2007 CMA Horizon Award. Her third song off her debut album, "Our Song" spent six weeks at #1 on the Country charts and peaked at #16 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #24 on the Billboard Pop 100. Swift also recorded a holiday album, Sounds of the Season: The Taylor Swift Holiday Collection, which was released October 16, 2007, exclusively available at Target stores. Swift was nominated for a 2008 Grammy Award in the category of Best New Artist, but lost to Amy Winehouse. Swift's successful single, "Picture to Burn" was the fourth single from her debut album. The song debuted early in 2008 and peaked at #3 on the Billboard Country Chart in the spring of 2008.

Big Machine Records announced the release of "Should've Said No" on Monday, May 19. The song is the fifth and final single from Swift's debut album.

"Should've Said No" became her second Number One single for the chart dated August 23, 2008. In Summer 2008, Swift released Beautiful Eyes, an EP sold exclusively at Wal-Mart.[41] In its first week of release, the album sold 45,000 copies, debuting at #1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart and #9 on the Billboard 200. With her self-titled debut album at #2 the same week, Swift became the first artist to hold the Top 2 positions of the Top Country Albums chart since LeAnn Rimes did so in 1997.[42] Swift plays a custom-made Taylor acoustic guitar made of koa wood.[43]

2008–2010: Fearless

Swift's latest studio album, Fearless, was released in the United States on November 11, 2008.[44] The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart. Its sales of 592,304 were the highest debut of any country artist in 2008. This is also the largest opening U.S. sales week in 2008 by a female artist in all genres of music, and the fourth biggest overall behind Lil Wayne, AC/DC and Coldplay.[45] Its lead single "Love Story" became a hit on both the country and pop charts. During the first week of release, more than 129,000 of Swift's sales were sold digitally. This gives Swift the best online start for any country album in history.[46] It also makes Swift the fourth biggest week for a digital album since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking them in 2004.[47] Through its eighth week of release, Fearless has sold more than 338,467 paid downloads, making it the bestselling country album in digital history. In second place is Swift's debut Taylor Swift with sales of 236,046 downloads as of April 18, 2009.[48]

In its debut week, seven songs in total on Fearless were charted on Billboard Hot 100, tying Swift with Hannah Montana for the most by a female artist in a single week. With "White Horse" charted at #13, this gave Swift her sixth top 20 debut of 2008, a calendar year record for any artist in the history of the Billboard Hot 100. Of the 13 tracks on Fearless, 11 have already spent time on the Hot 100.[47] "Change", a song from the album, was selected as part of a soundtrack supporting Team USA's efforts in the 2008 Summer Olympics.[42] The song was also featured as part of the soundtrack of NBC's broadcast package of the Olympics.

She also released the lead single from the album, "Love Story", on September 12, 2008. The song is accompanied by a music video that is based on Romeo and Juliet. The song has reached number 2 on iTunes Store Top Downloaded Songs and number four on the Billboard Hot 100. It is also called as Taylor Swift's signature song. Fifteen weeks after being added to pop radio, "Love Story" also became the first country crossover recording to hit number one on the Nielsen BDS CHR/Top 40 chart in the 16-year-history of list, as well as number one on the Mediabase Top 40 Chart.[49]

The second single from Fearless, "White Horse", was released on December 8, 2008. The music video for the song premiered on CMT on February 7, 2009. Though it missed the #1 spot on Billboard's Hot Country Songs as of the week April 11, 2009, "White Horse" claimed the #1 spot atop the USA Today/Country Aircheck chart (powered by Mediabase) in that week.[50] "Forever & Always", another song from the album, was based on Swift's relationship with singer Joe Jonas.[51]

She was the first artist in the history of Nielsen SoundScan to have two different albums in the Top 10 on the year end album chart.[5] It also was the first album by a female artist in country music history to log eight weeks at #1 on The Billboard 200. In mid-January 2009, Swift became the first country artist to top the 2 million mark in paid downloads with three different songs.[52]

Swift is Billboard's Top Country Artist and Hot Country Songwriter of 2008; she is also country music's best-selling artist of 2008.[53] Swift ranked seventh on Nielsen SoundScan Canada's top-10 selling artists across all genres in 2008. Fearless and Taylor Swift took the #1 and #2 slots on 2008 Year-End Canadian Country Albums Chart.[54] Swift sang the Star-Spangled Banner at game three of the World Series in Philadelphia on October 25, 2008.

In January 2009, Swift announced her North American Fearless Tour planned for 52 cities in 38 states and provinces in the US and Canada over the span of 6 months. [55] The tour kicked off April 23 in Evansville, Indiana.

On January 10, 2009, Swift made her first musical guest appearance on Saturday Night Live, making her the youngest country singer to appear as a musical guest on the show in its 33-year run.[56][57] On February 8, 2009, Swift performed her song "Fifteen" with Miley Cyrus at the 51st Grammy Awards.

As of the week ending February 8, 2009, Swift's single "Love Story" became the country song with most paid downloads in history and the first country song to top the Mainstream Top 40 chart.[58][59] Swift then subsequently went onto replicate the feat, reaching number 1 again on the Mainstream Top 40 in September 2009 with "You Belong with Me", making it just the second country song in the chart's history to reach the top.

Since the release of Swift's second album, Fearless, she has released one new song "Crazier" for the soundtrack of the feature film Hannah Montana: The Movie. At the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, Swift picked up Album of the Year honors as a performer and producer for Fearless.

Swift is the youngest artist in history to win Album of the Year award. Swift was also awarded the Academy's Crystal Milestone Award, given for Outstanding Achievement in Country Music. The Academy lauded her for career achievements including selling more albums in 2008 than any other artist in any genre of music, the breakthrough success of her debut album (which spawned five Top 10 hits, more than any in history for a female artist's debut CD), and the worldwide crossover success of her #1 single "Love Story". The Academy also cited Swift's contribution to helping country music attract a younger audience.[60] As of late April 2009, Swift has sold more than 14 million downloads, as well as three Gold Mobile Ringtones.[61]

Taylor won two awards for Female Video of the Year and Video of the Year at the CMT Music Awards.[62]

On April 28, 2009, Swift gave a free, private concert to students at Bishop Ireton High School, a small Catholic school in Alexandria, Virginia after the school won a national "TXT 2 WIN" contest from Verizon Wireless.[63] The students sent over 19,000 text messages to Verizon during a roughly one month long contest. Swift played for about an hour during the school's field day, an annual day-long recess with games and activities. On October 8, 2009 Swift's official website announced that her sold-out Fearless Tour would return to North America for 37 additional dates in 2010.

On the chart week of November 14, 2009, Swift set a record for the most songs on the Billboard Hot 100 by a female artist at the same time with eight singles from the re-release of her 2008 album Fearless namely five debut new songs in the top 30: "Jump Then Fall" at #10, "Untouchable" at #19, "The Other Side of the Door" at #22, "Superstar" at #27 and "Come in With the Rain" at #30 and three already-charted songs that were released as singles — "You Belong with Me" (#14), "Forever & Always" which re-entered the chart at #34, and "Fifteen" (#46).[64] In addition, the song "Two Is Better Than One" by Boys Like Girls which features Swift, debuted at #80 in the same issue. This gives Swift six debuts in one week, the biggest number of debuts by any female artist of all time. It also lifts the number of her simultaneously-charting songs to nine, setting another record for the biggest number of charting songs by the same female artist in the same week.[65] When "Fifteen" reached #38 on the chart week of November 21, 2009, Swift became the female artist with most Top 40 singles this decade, surpassing Beyoncé Knowles, who currently has 19 Top 40 singles. "Fifteen" became Swift's thirteenth Top 40 single from Fearless and her twentieth overall.[66] Taylor's historical moves continued as the December 5 issue of the Hot 100 was announced; "Two Is Better Than One" by Boys Like Girls progressed to #40, and John Mayer's "Half of My Heart" debuted at #25 where both of these songs featured Swift. This gives Swift her 21st and 22nd Top 40 singles.

MTV VMA incident

On July 14, 2009, it was confirmed Swift would perform at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. "I'm so excited that MTV and the VMAs have invited me to perform, because I think this year's show will be unlike anything they've ever done!" stated Swift. "I love incorporating theatrics into my performances, and the VMAs have always allowed artists to run with that," she said. "MTV has been so good to me, and I could not be more excited about this year's VMAs." This was Swift's first performance on the VMAs, where she became the first country music artist to win an MTV Video Music Award.[72] The show aired September 13 on MTV, with British comedian Russell Brand hosting for the second year in a row.[73]

During the awards show, singer/rapper Kanye West came on stage and took the microphone from Swift during her acceptance speech for winning Best Female Video for "You Belong with Me", saying that Beyoncé's video for "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)", nominated for the same award, was "one of the best videos of all time". This caused the audience in the venue to respond negatively.[74][75] He handed the microphone back to a stunned and reportedly upset Swift, who did not finish her acceptance speech.[74][76] West was removed from the remainder of the show for his actions.[74] When Beyoncé later won the award for Best Video of the Year for "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)", she called Swift up on stage so that she could finish her acceptance speech.[74][77]

Following the awards show, West apologized for his verbal outburst in a blog entry (which was subsequently removed).[74] He was criticized by various celebrities for the outburst,[75][78][79][80][81] and even by President Barack Obama in an "off the record" comment.[82][83][84][85] He later posted a second apology on his blog and, during a planned appearance on the debut episode of The Jay Leno Show one day after the incident (with Jay-Z and Rihanna to perform "Run This Town"), first appeared apologizing publicly for the incident.[75]

On September 15, 2009, Swift talked about the matter on The View. Asked what she was thinking the moment it happened, she stated:

Well, I think my overall thought process was something like, 'Wow, I can't believe I won, this is awesome, don't trip and fall, I'm gonna get to thank the fans, this is so cool. Oh, Kanye West is here. Cool haircut. What are you doing there?' And then, 'Ouch.' And then, 'I guess I'm not gonna get to thank the fans.'[86][87]

Swift said West had not spoken to her following the incident.[87] Following her appearance on The View, West contacted her to apologize personally; Swift said she accepted his apology.[87][72]

During the 2009 CMA Awards, the incident with Kanye West was lampooned on stage by Brad Paisley and Little Jimmy Dickens, with Dickens stealing the microphone during Paisley's speech to say Swift's video was better.

Songwriting style

Swift's lyrics are highly autobiographical; she has said that "If you listen to my albums, it’s like reading my diary."[97] For instance the song "Forever & Always" was inspired by her relationship with Joe Jonas,[98] while the song "Hey Stephen" was written about a guy who opened some shows for her.[97] "Fifteen" was written about her freshman year of high school. It has been said that her lyrics "can be tinged with acid: the quiet loner girl getting one over on the cheerleaders, or a caustic payback for the boy who dumped her."[99] She's also indicated that she tries to write so her fans can relate to the lyrics, saying "My goal is to never write songs that my fans can't relate to."[100]

The intently personal nature of the songs has drawn her the most attention. Swift once said, "I thought people might find them hard to relate to, but it turned out that the more personal my songs were, the more closely people could relate to them."[101]

The fact that her songs are so clearly autobiographical has led to her fans researching them. Swift once said, "Every single one of the guys that I’ve written songs about has been tracked down on MySpace by my fans."[102] The New York Times described Swift as "one of pop's finest songwriters, country’s foremost pragmatist and more in touch with her inner life than most adults".[103]
